Bonjour,

Nederlandstalige gids in Parijs, lachend en poserend naast de Seine-rivier in Parijs, met de Eiffeltoren op de achtergrond op een zonnige dag.

I’m happy you found me. My name is Emma, and I’m a guide in Paris.

It was love that made me leave Belgium and settle into this beautiful city - cliché I know. And by now, I can say that I not only love my partner, I absolutely love this city.

One if the things I love even more then Paris itself, is sharing my love for the city.

And I know, Paris is one of the most beautiful cities in the world. But Paris can also be overwhelming. Busy, noisy, full of tourists rushing from one monument to the next.

I believe that the beauty of the city is about more than the major attractions. It’s also in the side streets, the stories behind the façades, the little terrace where Parisians have their local spot.

I believe that by slowing down, you can see beautiful things, even in bustling Paris.

Paris is a state of mind, sometimes I even think this city has a heartbeat.

Planning your trip can be a lot. Need a little help? Happy to help!

Slow travel in a bustling Paris

Slow travel and Paris, two words you might not put together. But I do it anyway. Because I believe it’s the type of traveling Paris is asking for.

But, what is slow traveling and why is Paris a perfect destination to try it out?

Slow traveling is not about moving slow.

It's about traveling mindfully. You travel without a rush, no itinerary that makes you exhausted by noon. You travel to have the best experience for yourself. Not to take the perfect Instagram photo (I’ll admit it, Paris is so beautiful that you’ll end up taking that Instagram shot anyway). By now, I mastered the art of seeing the city, not planning everything full and take a break on time.

It’s about getting to know a culture. You made it all way to Paris, amazing. New country, new habits, and it’s all in a strange language. So, it’s time to embrace it all. You might want your coffee from the coffee brand we all know. But it will give you a way better feeling supporting the local bakery. It’s the land of wine and cheese, it’s not so hard to blend in ;) When you are with me, I take the time to tell you about the history and the modern day life in Paris. And I learn you the words you need to know to blend in.

It’s about traveling responsible. You are here, you are going to spend money and time at places. Is there a better feeling than supporting local bars, restaurants, artists and shops?

And getting around could happen in an eco-friendly way. Public transport seens like a mess and getting on the bike the first time seens scarty? I’m here to help you out!
